The Pharaoh of Genesis is the king of Egypt who appears in the Book of Genesis story of Joseph. He is a very different character from the later Pharaoh of Exodus. After Joseph saved Egypt from years of famine, this pharaoh favored Joseph. This pharaoh rewarded Joseph and allowed him to invite his family to join him and to live in Egypt.
