On April 2, 2016, a localized tornado outbreak struck North/South Carolina. Throughout North/South Carolina, the tornadoes killed 19 people and injured 45 others. A total of 635 homes were damaged or destroyed across 15 counties. However this outbreak would be soon surpassed three weeks later by the mega April 25–28, 2016 tornado outbreak, which produced 506 tornadoes and killed 574 people.
