When the Battle of Posada came to an end of the Hungarian suzerainty in Wallachia, where the first independent Romanian principality was founded. Basarab had descendants who ruled Wallachia for almost two whole centuries, the region of Bessarabia was situated between two rivers; Dniester and Prut, it was named after the Basarab dynasty.
