Thomas Craig was born 4th December, 1962 in Sheffield. He was a plumber by trade for six years before deciding that he wanted to become an actor and he then studied at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. His first role was in The Paradise Club and he built up a long cv of parts (including Inspector Morse, Between the Lines and Cadfael but was best known to viewers for his regular role as Simon Goddard in Where the Heart is before landing the role of Tommy Harris in Coronation Street first appearing on 13th November 2002. His character and the family were involved in some important storylines for their two and a half years on the programme but they never became great favourites with the viewers (with the eventual exception of Richard Fleeshman as Craig Harris).
