Palak was an ancient weapon or relic called a "star blade" that was stored in the Kawatche Caves which gave Kryptonian-like abilities to its possessor, which would eventually corrupt them. It is also part of a prophecy saying that it will, or can, shine in the presence of Naman's archenemy. The legend of Naman tells that the original visitor left Palak in the wall of the Kawatche Caves for the Kawatche people to safeguard.

- Palaks were an insect species of near-microscopic beetle which were believed to share large portions of their genome with the predatory voroos species. Zoologists theorized that voroos, which were immobile, reproduced through palaks, with the beetles exchanging genetic information with the large animals and then carrying the fertilized gametes to new environments. Voroos could be found on many planets across the galaxy in almost any environment, meaning if the theory was correct, palaks would be found in each of these areas as well.
