Milstein's work demonstrates the range that Australian sequential art has. Rejecting prepubescent tales of sword-fighting, vampire pirates and Lucifer-reincarnated-as-a-highschool-student tales, Milstein's short stories cover unlikely topics for comics. Examples include an aged ornithologist sharing stories about favourite bird species, or a young man's quest to find the identity of a mysterious figure in a photo of a Parisian street in the 1950s.
