The Imperial Senate (Augustan: Ιμπερϊα Σενατο Imperia Senato) was the legislative assembly of the Augustan Empire, as established by its founding treaty. The Senate consisted of the cabinet ministers of all member states, including the nominally independent Despotates. The Senate's main responsibility was electing the Emperor; other duties included passing legislation on cultural, political, and military matters concerning the Empire as a whole.
