Alejande formed from a tropical disturbance 1,014 miles southeast of the Peninsula of Raveja on May 30 as Tropical Depression 1N. 1N initially had its convection displaced to the west, however this did not stop it from becoming Tropical Storm Alejande 12 hours later. Alejande quickly strengthened from 40 mph to 70 mph in just 6 hours. It then became a hurricane while rapidly approaching the Peninsula of Raveja. At 05:00 AM, June 1 it peaked as a 80 mph hurricane while nearing landfall there, however cooler drier air got entrained in its circulation causing it to start slowly weakening, it later made landfall as a 75 mph hurricane in the Peninsula of Raveja. The cooler drier air was making it transition to extratropical. Twelve hours later it became extratropical after weakening to a tropic

  • Alejande formed from a tropical disturbance 1,014 miles southeast of the Peninsula of Raveja on May 30 as Tropical Depression 1N. Twelve hours later it became extratropical after weakening to a tropical storm. The remnants impacted the polar region as a Category 2 equivalent extratropical cyclone. The extratropical cyclone then weakened gradually to depression equivalent and dissipated completely. Or that is what they thought. It became a polar vortex in the polar region. The polar vortex then laid dormant for a couple months before dropping back down to the tropical regions of the planet. Initially redevelopment was declared extremely unlikely, however it began taking on subtropical characteristics. The subtropical disturbance then became Subtropical Storm Alejande on October 3. The subtropical storm quickly strengthened to hurricane equivalent, before becoming fully tropical as a Category 3 major hurricane. Alejande mananged to strengthen further to its current peak intensity as a Category 4 hurricane.
