About: Momba the Witch   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : dbkwik:resource/xoykDFxJFBgF02W_HRnEzw==, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

Momba the Witch replaced the Wicked Witch of the West in the 1910 film, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, though it is not known why. Her story is the exact same as the Wicked Witch's although, interesting to note, Momba appeared with her flying broom stick and pointy hat, two characteristics that became famous attributes of the Wicked Witch's in later times (and modern day) though originally not part of her character. Also interesting to note, Baum had previously used the very similar name of Mombi for the Wicked Witch of the North.
