abstract
  • The so-called "Black Sound" device was a machine used by Flipside and the Stereo Brothers to eliminate their enemies. By connecting it to a receiver or other amplifier, the device produced sonic waves that caused a significant strain to the human body. Prolonged exposure would result in a fatal heart attack. The device was used successfully on Jake Staxx and Garry Doll, who were both overweight. When Flipside attempted to use it on Dick Tracy and Sparkle Plenty (who were more physically fit) the device took longer to work. Before it could kill Tracy and Sparkle, it shattered the windows of the recording studio in which they were being held captive. This allowed Tracy to escape and destroy the device with a gunshot.
