Queen La is a villain in The Legend of Tarzan. She first appeared in "Tarzan and the Lost City of Opar", where she wants to have a king. When she watches from a balcony Tarzan fighting the Leopard Men to save the professor, she falls in love with him. After inviting the group as her guests, she makes a plan to make Tarzan her husband and get rid of Jane. The next morning, she invites Tarzan and Jane to see the Springs of Opar. During the trip, Jane falls behind and sadly goes back to Opar. After Tarzan and La arrive at the Springs of Opar, Queen La asks Tarzan if he believes in fate. Tarzan thinks she means him and Jane, but she means Tarzan and La as she wraps her arms around him.
