Breath of Fire, Japan Breath of Fire: Ryu no Senshi (ブ レ ス オ ブ フ ァ イ ア 竜 の 戦 士 lit. Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior?), Is a role-playing game developed by Capcom, initially only for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Released in Japan in April 1993, it was later translated by Square Soft for the American market. First RPG Capcom, Breath of Fire precedes all the many followed with his character designs by Keiji Inafune and the music of Alph Lyla. In 2001, the game was ported to the portable Game Boy Advance platform with a revised graphical, more intuitive interface and unlimited bailouts.

Breath of Fire follows the adventures of Ryu, last member of a hybrid race human-dragon and find his sister. During his adventure, he meets other warriors to share their experiences and will fight the Dark Dragon Clan, an empire dictatorship whose aim is to resurrect an evil goddess. Followed by Breath of Fire II, in 1994, the founder got good ratings.
