The Holy Huntresses were the daughters of Alabri programmed to be totally obedient elite bodyguards and huntresses for their aunt, Arpel. They were led by the eldest of their number, Telas. They were sworn to eternal virginity, and executed if they broke their vows. They hunted all of Arpel's enemies to the death. Most of these enemies were men who, in actuality or at least in Arpel's imagination, had in some way disappointed or insulted a woman. In their hunts, they used poisoned darts and neks.
