Bright Wizards or Pyromancers are wizards from the Bright College of the Colleges of Magic in the Empire. They make use of Aqshy, the magical wind of fire, and are collectively known as the Bright Order. Because Bright wizards draw their power from Aqshy, which coalesces in dry and warm places, they are at their most powerful when they are in such environments. As all magical winds, Aqshy influences the minds of its wielders to reflect its nature, so Bright Wizards are known to be rather eccentric, impulsive and temperamental.

Because Bright wizards draw their power from Aqshy, which coalesces in dry and warm places, they are at their most powerful when they are in such environments. As all magical winds, Aqshy influences the minds of its wielders to reflect its nature, so Bright Wizards are known to be rather eccentric, impulsive and temperamental. Bright Wizards, as the name might imply, dress in bright, ardent, reds and oranges. Their complexion is typically ruddy, and many are tattooed in an number flaming shapes which wreathe and ignite as a wizard draws upon Aqshy. Older, more experienced Pyromancers have hair and tattoos which are completely red and when they channel the Red Wind, these burst into flames. The symbol of the bright order is the Key of Aqshy or the Key of Secrets. Bright Wizards can often be seen carrying totemic bronze keys in honour of their Order. Other less prominent symbols of the Order include the Flame of Wrath and the Torch of Wisdom. There are seven Keys of Secrets and each one represents a wizard's deeper understanding of pyromancy. As he or she advances along the path of learning, they earn the right to bare an additional key up until the final seventh. Bright Wizards are sometimes refereed to as Wizards of the Bright Flame.
