Cerberus Gate is the first scenario in Conquest of the Underworld. The Ancestors send Tarnum to Erathia so that he can help queen Allison Gryphonheart free her father Rion's soul from the Underworld, where it was taken after being stolen from Paradise. As Rion was the man who slew him, Tarnum has little love for the man, and hates being forced to save his soul. Queen Allison writes often to Tarnum, but his replies are late and short, as he is not fond of writing. She hopes to join him on the battlefield later, and he chuckles at this, as she is not much of a warrior.

| - Cerberus Gate is the first scenario in Conquest of the Underworld. The other knights talk about the savagery of barbarians, and how the brutes will attack even defenseless villages. Tarnum, disguised as a knight, tries unsuccessfully to convince himself that the soldier was wrong.
