The Federal Chancellor, frequently shortened to Chancellor, is, under the 1926 Constitution, the head of government of the United Isles. It is historically a continuation of the office of Chancellor that was originally established following unification in 1752. The 1926 Constitution increased the role of the Chancellor by investing full executive power in a federal cabinet and allowing the Chancellor the right to set policy guidelines in all policy areas, this making them the de facto chief executive of the state. The role is generally comparable to that of Prime Minister in other parliamentary democracies.
