Dean Dr. Henry Reginald Gamble (6 November 1859 - 9 August 1931) was a Church of England clergyman and local politician. Following education at the University of Oxford, Gamble was ordained in 1884. Following curacies at St Mark, Hamilton Terrace and St Andrew, Wells Street, in 1895 he became vicar of St Botolph, Aldersgate. In 1902 was presented to the rectory of Holy Trinity, Upper Chelsea by the Earl Cadogan. In 1905 he was made Rural Dean of Chelsea. His Wikipedia page is [1]

He became involved in local politics in 1906 when he became a Municipal Reform Party councillor for Royal Hospital Ward on Chelsea Borough Council. He was Mayor of Chelsea in 1908-09, and was re-elected in 1909. In 1916 he was made a Canon of Westminster Abbey and rector of Westminster St John the Evangelist.
