Brookwich was once one of the finest cities in all of England, if not Europe, competing (and often beating) such cities as London and Paris. But an economic depression in the late nineteen-seventies (1970s) forced the closing of many factories and other businesses, and poverty and corruption soon ran rampant. Only with the election of Francis Argyle as mayor in early 2010 have the city begun to fight the poverty and the corruption. Time will tell if Brookwich will once again become the shining jewel it once was...
