The baati is a marine arthropod native to Telios Prime. It has been harvested by Telian marine farmers for several millenia, and is considered a delicacy by almost every Telian although a small portion of the population demonstrates an allergic reaction to a protein that makes up the hard chitinous exoskeleton of the animal. The baati has eight segmented legs and one single cutting claw and is one of the odd examples of lack of biological symetry on Telios Prime. Although several times larger than an average Telian, the baati is a herbivore, roaming the ocean floor in search of food, demonstrating very little aggressive behaviour and low intelligence. Telian marine farmers have maintained undersea corrals of baati for many hundreds of years now.
