Sonic Crazy is an article in the first Sonic the Summer Special that goes over some of the Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise released recently. The page mentions that although many items can be found in the UK, there's even more in Europe and beyond. One of the oddest imports is a Sonic badge measuring 3 inches in height. A switch on the back would light up Sonic's eyes and some sort of Mexican tune would play! Unfortunately, this was never released in Europe.

As well as merchandise, Sonic has appeared in two television shows (Sonic the Hedgehog and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog), plus Sonic the Comic. Fleetway even produces versions of STC all over Europe (such as Sonic der Comic). The Sonic the Hedgehog Hot Air Balloon was produced especially for Sega to advertise Sonic at many balloon races and meets. Around the time of the article, Sonic and Metal Sonic appeared in adverts advertising Sonic CD and Sonic Spinball. A large section of the page is dedicated to arcade game Segasonic the Hedgehog, although several details are wrong. Apart from being named "Sonic the Arcade Game", the writer suggests that the only playable characters are Sonic and Ray the Flying Squirrel, omitting Mighty the Armadillo. The game uses a trackball system, but apparently leaves your hand aching before long. It is also considered to be highly addictive and "sets a new standard for arcade action".
