Refurbishment work commenced on all three towers in 2011. The intention is to improve the structural and thermal performance of the building whilst adding an additional 30 years to its life and achieve the 'Decent Homes Standard' set by Central Government. All the towers will be re-roofed with an insulted felt roofing system, receive a new insulation system to the walls, which will be covered in a white render for a contemporary finish, replace all the windows with double-glazed PVC-u window units, enclose all balconies to create a private indoor conservatory space for year-round use, create a lighting system to improve the image of the blocks as well as creating a well-lit and safe environment around them, and to replace the entry systems to the blocks.
