He joined the Rebellion slightly after the reports of the Battle of Yavin entered the public, and he found himself specifically inspired by Luke Skywalker. Since then, he has grown into a serious thorn in the side of the Empire, to the point where his mere continued survival was an affront and a taunt. Later on, he has fought in the Battle of Endor and survived (his tuned A-Wing flying not too far from the Millennium Falcon) and continued to help rebuild the galaxy. The small splinter cell Rebel Squadrons helped give more purpose during the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War's end. Finally, late into his career, he has pulled for the isolated Uprising, using his contacts with Rebel Squadrons to subtly establish in a connection between the Anoat Sector and the rest of the galaxy.
