Tepies are a race of anthropomorphic moles or platypuses inhabiting the world of Random Kingdom VX. While having bipedal gait, they are clearly animals in all other aspects of their appearance, showing traits belonging to several different clades apparently randomly assembled: they have a duck bill-like mouth and nose, arms shaped like vestigal wings, without discernible hands, and bird-like feet, yet their whole body is covered in fur rather than feathers. Their eyes are small and hardly discernible. They are born not to Tepie parents, but rather grow from the fruits of the Tepie trees, in turn planting more Tepie tree seeds. The odd mixture of biological aspects is not explained in-game, but the introduction explains that they were the result of genetic experiments by a civilization in a

  • Tepies are a race of anthropomorphic moles or platypuses inhabiting the world of Random Kingdom VX. The odd mixture of biological aspects is not explained in-game, but the introduction explains that they were the result of genetic experiments by a civilization in ages long past. Despite their awkward appearance and duck-like locomotion, Tepies are very adaptable and inventive and have the unique ability of shapeshifting into any form they desire. Their morphing ability allows them to manipulate delicate objects with their otherwise shapeless 'hands'. They are very intelligent (possibly the most intelligent species in the game, judging from their engineering skills and their vast trade network), but not very wise, nor careful - with a typical 'mad scientist' attitude, the Tepies will work ceaselessly to realize some elaborate plan or scheme, even if the results spectacularly backfire and endanger everyone around. Their main interests are their greed for financial gain, and an intense distrust for the rest of the world and the races that inhabit it, which led to them isolating their kingdom from the rest of the world in a deep jungle behind a magical barrier. However, their business attitude will often win out, and many Tepi travelling merchants plunder and scam around in the world today, however always relying on their shapeshifter skills to avoid being recognized as a Tepi - in fact, a Tepi that is seen in his true form by a member of the other races will be considered unclean and banished from the kingdom until he can redeem his honour. Because of their method of reproduction, families do not exist in the Tepi society, thought there are clans and tribes of those that have come from a single Tepie tree. Tepie society, despite being called "kingdom", is egalitarian and decisions are made by an assembly.
