Stuart Sender is an American director, producer, screenwriter and award winning journalist. He co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced Prisoner of Paradise, which was nominated for an Academy Award and a Directors Guild Award for best documentary feature. His work has also won a Polk Award for Excellence in Journalism, the prestigious Grierson Award and a New York Emmy Award for best newsmagazine. He began his career at CBS news and then became Senior Producer of the weekly newsmagazine "South Africa Now". Stuart produced the first exclusive interview with Nelson Mandela following his release from prison; and he produced "Mandela: Free At Last", a nationally broadcast special for PBS.
