Initial Notes About The Mix: I made this a long time ago -- it's actually a mixtape in the literal sense. It was for a friend of mine in college, who was also a music geek (I believe his minor was music, or maybe he was doing a double major with Music as one of them, either way), although I figured I'd make him a mix of a bunch of stuff that I liked. So, in a way, this is a snapshot of my musical tastes circa 1999. Apologies for the absolutely awful mix title; I considered changing it for here, but I don't know to what. Anyway, I was basically a neophyte Frank Zappa fan and thought the whole talk like the Kingfish thing was hilarious, and... yeah. It didn't help that I was a relatively new member to the Church, and was a little bit of a "Bob"bie, then, too. Eccch.

At the top, I also wrote "Additional Texts: Primus, Type O Negative, The B-52s, God Ween Satan by Ween, Pizzicato 5, Barnes & Barnes, The Mr. T Experience, The Dead Milkmen, Edgard Varése, Igor Stravinsky, Frank Chickens, Oingo Boingo, Bonzo Dog Band." Awful title aside, I still think it's a pretty good mix, though, there's some stuff on here I'd probably end up cutting, particularly some of the more novelty-y stuff that ends up wearing a few times through. I liked the mix enough, though, to take it with me to work that summer and basically listen to it, looped, every day for 6 hours. Tracklisting: Side A: 1. * Negativland - Theme From A Big 10-8 Place 2. * Thomas Dolby - Leipzig 3. * The Captain Howdy - Always Something There To Remind Me 4. * The Residents - Bach Is Dead 5. * bis - Antiseptic Poetry 6. * DEVO - Timing X / Wiggly World 7. * The Residents - Sinister Exaggerator 8. * Violent Femmes - American Music 9. * The KLF - All You Need Is Love 10. * Frank Zappa - Dumb All Over 11. * Raymond Scott - Powerhouse 12. * Yumi Takada - Oujosama To Oyobi! 13. * Ween - I'll Be Your Jonny On The Spot Side B: 1. * Thomas Dolby - The Key To Her Ferarri 2. * Tom Waits - Hang On St. Christopher 3. * Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Tokyo Storm Warning 4. * Frank Zappa - Doreen 5. * Negativland - Pip Digs Pep 6. * Camper Van Beethoven - Pictures Of Matchstick Men 7. * Pet Shop Boys - Se A Vida E (That's The Way Life Is) 8. * XTC - Chain Of Command 9. * Brave Combo - Come Back To Me 10. * Pet Shop Boys - Red Letter Day 11. * The Black Arabs - Anarchy In The UK/God Save The Queen/Pretty Vacant/No One Is Innocent Medley
