Many believe Ethiopia to be the birthplace of coffee (not South America, which others believe) and coffee trees blossomed in an area called "Kaffa" (in present day Ethiopia) and the trees were called "Kafa," which sounds a lot like coffee! According to legend, Kaldi, a 9th-century goat-herder, discovered the coffee plant in Ethiopia after noticing the energizing effect the plant had on his flock. i love ethiopian coffee
