Tappi Iwase, better known as TAPPY, is a Japanese composer and a musician. He is best known for his works on Konami video games. He composed the "Metal Gear Solid Main Theme", which Harry Gregson-Williams later remixed for use in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. TAPPY's basic melody later became iconic for the series, although it was dropped as the series' main theme as of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, due to the controversy surrounding its similarities to "The Winter Road" by Russian composer Georgy Sviridov.
