  • The First Era begins when ??? sacrifices himself to save the world from being destroyed. It marks the start of the longest period of peace for Aerion. But it never lasts, as times of conflict start to arise as the rulers of each province begin to wage war.
  • The First Era represented the first era of recorded history. In this era, Drakonia began to rise in power, from the status of a large city, to a dominant kingdom, and eventually an empire that spanned most of Doras Edrossi. This was not yet the golden age of Drakonia, yet; not for many millennia, in fact. During this time, not much happened in Andoras until very late in the period; in fact, the Second Era begins because of Andorasi modernization. Most dates are approximate unless otherwise specified.

* 9,800 BC: The city of Thys is founded. * 9,760 ± 50 BC: One of the first recorded wars in Andoras, known as the Vilefall Coven battles, occurs about this time. * 9,720 BC: The city of Merythaia is founded. * 9,630 BC: The city of Ethryke is founded. * 9,600 BC: Vara the Vixen, as she is commonly known, begins her bout of insanity and terror in the kingdom of Drakonia. She is one of the last witches, implying there were others before her. * 9,540 BC: The first mention of the Zaentovi appears in the history books, as a northern Drakonian village is attacked by a group of them, which encroached on their tribal lands. The Drakonian king at the time dubs them "zaeni toven", meaning "mounted warriors". * 9,430 BC: First. last and only to date colonization of Denemd. Denizens are quickly driven off of the island or killed by unknown forces. * 9,320 BC: Vara the Vixen, reduced to the life of vagabonding and hiding in caverns, is finally captured and executed. It apparently took an inane effort to finally kill her. * 8,900 - 8,100 BC: Archaeological discoveries from this period show that ancient Drakonians were highly sophisticated. Next to nothing else is known of the ninth century BC. * 8,002 BC: A massive event is planned for the two-millennium anniversary of the founding of Drakonia. Thousands flock to the walls of the massive city in expectation of the festivities. * 8,000 BC: The festivities are canceled due to a freak accident in the main square of Drakonia; while provoking a dragon, a local mercenary indirectly causes hundreds to die when the dragon ignites the plaza. Jaedos of Merythaia, a philosopher, is quoted as saying "Well, I suppose there's always the next thousand years for us to celebrate." * 7,969 BC: Valiha Ceryne is born, later known as the founder of the city-state that bears her name, Ceryne. Valiha was also believed to be a witch, as she lived for an exceptionally long time -- 212 years -- and had a youthful appearance throughout most of her life. * 7,944 BC: The majority of the modern-day Andorasi Great Houses have finished asserting their dominance over their respective domains, with the exception of House Grimolt and House Dermond. * 7,893 BC: One of the most influential politicians of the mid-era of ancient Drakonia, Varen Diomadron, is born. He would later change his name to Nyule and ascend to the heavens after being assassinated, becoming the second Paragon to be dubbed such. * 7,886 BC: The first record of a religious organization dedicated to what would become The Five Paragons emerges. It was originally dismissed as a heresy, but gains a considerable following after missionaries proselytize. It dies quickly, only resurfacing nearly thirty years later with the death of Varen Diomadron. * 7,874 BC: The city of Lavos is founded. * 7,873 BC: Varen Diomadron, at the age of twenty, begins to attend Academia Ethromaia, studying a course of politics. * 7,864 BC: Varen Diomadron, after being prosecuted and deemed put to death for a crime he was framed for, escapes from captivity and hides in the Leyse Woodlands, living as a hermit and changes his name to Nyule to avoid detection. * 7,861 BC: Nyule is assassinated after travelling to the city plaza of Drakonia, ascending in a fashion similar to that of Alzar, the Paragon of Strength.. * 7,860 BC: A cult dedicated to the worship of both Nyule and Alzar is established and resurfaces, being shunned and outcast within its first year. * 7,859 BC: The first use of the word "Paragon" emerges, to refer to Nyule and Alzar. They are hailed as such in a speech by St. Malveus while preaching to the budding crowds outside of the city of Ethryke. * 7,855 BC: The city of Ceryne is founded, in an odd fashion; thousands of young men flock to where the city would be built and finish it within a year. Even when approaching exhaustion, the young men continued to work, nearly to their deaths. * 7,854 BC: Ceryne experiences an almost exponential growth spurt, and Merythaia loses most of its population as the intellectuals of the city travel to Ceryne to dwell in it. * 7,848 BC: Missionaries of the Two Paragons travel across the sea to Andoras to preach the word of the new-found religion. Men who converted after listening to the original sermons are typically sent, with the reason that they know how they were converted and will be able to spread the same message onto the Andorasi. This is where recorded history starts for Andoras. * 7,834 BC: According to missionaries in Andoras, several Andorasi tribes have their own system of government, alphabet, and language. The only real difficulty is breaching the language barrier. * 7,811 BC: With the assistance of missionaries, the Thyllanorians discover gold in their foothills, previously unbeknownst to everyone of its whereabouts. This would begin the onset of wealth in the Karth'maeres and Thyllanor as a whole. * 7,808 BC: Construction of the Hierophant of Faercrest begins, a massive offshore statue dedicated to Alzar. Construction is halted by a war in the north, with a tribe attempting to assert dominance over the region. * 7,804 BC: Although missionaries attempt to breach the cold mountains of Frostfall, they are unable to. The northmen would remain heathens of the Two Paragons, worshipping the Old Beliefs. * 7,796 BC: A massive army of Zaentovi attack the outskirts of the Drakonian Empire, occupying land as far south as the Leyse Woodlands. This would not be the last time the Zaentovi reached this far south. * 7,788 BC: War occurs between the two city-states of Lavos and Meyron over a land dispute. It would be the first time that city-states warred with each other. The war was put down by the Drakonian Empire before any major damage could occur. * 7,761 BC: The Hierophant of Faercrest is finally finished being constructed, taking nearly half a century to construct. It stands 182 meters at its highest, with the tip of Alzar's sword reaching into the sky. It would also remain the world's highest structure for over six thousand years. * 7,757 BC: Valiha Ceryne finally dies, some say by suicide. She is found in her villa with her throat slit and a trail of blood leading up to her body. A bloody knife laid next to her. * 7,753 BC: The city of Blackwood is founded, and House Dermond comes to prominence. * 7,750 BC: A successful skirmish on the borders of northern Thyllanor results in a victory for the Kingslanders, who declare themselves a kingdom and challenge all of Andoras. The Kingsland is founded. * 7,742 BC: House Dermond becomes the rulers of a wide swath of the region of Gardoria, becoming a Great House and taking many houses as vassals and allies. * 7,734 BC: A war between the Thyllanorians, the Gardorians, the Shoremen, and the Kingslanders results in a Shoremen-Thyllanorian alliance victory. The two powers united towards the end of the war and beat back both powers to take a good portion of northern Kingsland for the Thyllanorians and eastern Gardoria for the Shoremen. Andoras is relatively peaceful until the next century. * 7,730s BC: A discernable language emerges between the two contrasting cultures of the missionaries from Doras Edrossi and the Andorasi converts. It is far from being the Common tongue of today; it uses many Andorasi expressions and words, and is unintelligible in the common tongue. It would take thousands of years for the language to evolve into its modern form. * 7,712 BC: The Thyllanorians receive a blessing on earth; a leader named Vaerik Karth'maere emerges, who becomes one of the key figures in the ending of the First Era. He inherits the position after the death of his father. * 7,703 BC: Nine years after Vaerik Karth'maere inherits the throne of Thyllanor, he expands the boundaries of the realms and subjugates the remaining tribes that make up modern Thyllanor's borders. * 7,703 BC: Lavos suffers from an extremely destructive fire. The library, which contained many works of great philosophers, is destroyed in the blaze. * 7,702 BC: Vaerik Karth'maere finishes conquering the southern half of the Kingsland, ruling roughly a quarter of Andoras. * 7,701 BC: The Shoremen of the Thunder's Shore join the kingdom of the Karth'maeres, being loyal allies of the house. * 7,697 BC: House Grimolt comes to prominence, as vassals of the lords of the Thunder Shores. They would not become rulers of the land until the middle of the Second Era. * 7,697 BC: Meyron experiences a growing period. * 7,691 BC: Vaerik Karth'maere suddenly dies, causing the burgeoning kingdom that he created to collapse upon itself. The throne falls to his infant son, Anders Karth'maere. The Shoremen remain with the kingdom, but the Kingslanders declare their independence. * 7,690 BC: Ceryne becomes the first city-state to officially join the Drakonian Empire. * 7,689 BC: A regent council is established in the Thyllanorian kingdom. They would rule until Anders reached adulthood. * 7,678 BC: After a period of negotiation and tentative conflict, the Kingslander vassals rejoin the Thyllanorian kingdom. * early 7,678 BC: A plague begins to claim the lives of many in Doras Edrossi. The symptoms were described as 'bulbous blisters on the skin' and 'darkening of skin accompanied with the smell of rotting flesh'. This may have been the first known outbreak of Deathwart, which has been a reoccurring phenomenon throughout history. * late 7,678 BC: Before the year is even over, the plague has spread across the sea to Andoras. Hundreds become infected and die within weeks of contracting the disease, with their bodies slowly becoming a host for the plague. Mass graves and body burnings occur universally as the plague spreads. * 7,676 BC: Death toll for the plague of Deathwart reaches the tens of thousands. Although locally isolated in port cities, no quarantine is put into effect and it eventually spreads out of the city limits. * 7,676 BC: Anders Karth'maere, who had went into hiding because of the plague, is crowned King of the Thyllanorian kingdom at age 15. * 7,674 BC: Thousands flock to Ceryne, one of the few cities that established a quarantine and one of the few that was minimally affected by the Deathwart plague. * 7,669 BC: The Deathwart plague death toll reaches the hundreds of thousands. * 7,668 BC: Anders Karth'maere has a son, Daelyn Karth'maere. He would later be one of the first emperors of Andoras. * 7,666 BC: The effects of the Deathwart plague begin to fade. The death toll reaches two hundred thousand and went barely further. Every inhabited place subliminally shows the effects. Cities are emptier, and metropoli are the worst hit locations; Drakonia loses the most citizens, accounting for nearly an eighth of the Deathwart casualties. * 7,665 BC: Anders' second son, Orem Karth'maere, is born. * 7,659 BC: Anders echoes in the image of his father by being a warlord; he conquers the northeastern tip of the Wetlands and the far eastern part of the Moonlyt Peaks. The Thyllanorian kingdom continues to expand, but the city-states and the Drakonian Empire still refuse to acknowledge the authority in any power on Andoras. * 7,658 BC: The Thyllanorian kingdom and the city-state of Ethryke begin trade affairs, establishing a seaway trade route between the two. * 7,658 BC: Lavos becomes the second city-state to declare fealty to the Drakonian Empire. * 7,655 BC: All traces of the Deathwart plague subside. The final death toll is approximately 220 thousand individuals. * 7,651 BC: Elene of Mournare becomes the primary advisor of the Thyllanorian kingdom. * 7,650 BC: After a considerable debate, the Drakonian Empire chooses to recognize the Thyllanorian kingdom as a sovereign nation. * 7,649 BC: Ethryke, Lavos, and Meyron recognize the Thyllanorian kingdom as a sovereign nation. * 7,649 BC: The Zaentovi apparently try to colonize Denemd, but the settlers never reach the island. * 7,648 BC: Ceryne and Merythaia recognize the Thyllanorian kingdom as a sovereign nation. * 7,647 BC: The First Era of recorded history ends. The Second Era begins.
