| - Fred Noonan was Amelia Earhart's navigator during her attempt to circumnavigate the world in 1937. During the flight, however, both Earhart and Noonan were abducted by an alien race called the Briori, along with over three hundred other Humans, and transported to the Delta Quadrant for use as slave labor. In 2371, Noonan and Earhart were discovered, along with six other humans, in a state of suspended animation, by the crew of the USS Voyager. By this time, the Human slaves had overthrown their Briori masters, and established a thriving settlement on the planet. Noonan and the others, who were the only Humans to be left in cryostasis, had come to be called "the 37's" by the descendants of the abducted humans, and regarded as a monument to their ancestors. Upon being revived by the Voyager crew, Noonan, who believed that they had been kidnapped by enemies of the United States, took the Voyager crewmembers prisoner with a handgun, before being calmed down by Earhart. Eventually, Captain Janeway was able to convince Noonan to let them show him and the others to Voyager to prove their story was true. On the way to Voyager, however, they came under attack by humans, who believed the Voyager crew to be invaders, and Noonan was seriously wounded. Janeway took Noonan to Voyager's sickbay where The Doctor treated his injury. As Noonan believed that his injury was too serious to repair, however, he expressed his love for Earhart, only to become extremely embarrassed when The Doctor informed him that he was going to make a full recovery. Eventually, Earhart, Noonan, and the rest of the 37's, elected to remain on the planet and join the Human settlement. (VOY: "The 37's")
