He started out with the Nashua Nationals of the New England Hockey League in 1927-28 and then transferred to the Providence Reds. The next year he was signed as a free agent by the Montreal Canadiens and was loaned to the Chicago Black Hawks for two games. Lesieur played parts of the 1930-31 and 1931-32 seasons with the Canadiens, winning the Stanley Cup in 1931. The rest of his time was spent with the Reds. He won the Calder Cup in 1938 and 1940. His next callup to the Canadiens was in 1935-36. Lesieur retired in 1941 after playing a year with the Pittsburgh Hornets.
