The Burrowing Sand-nit is the largest species of Burrow-nit discovered so far. Its face is yellow in color with red glowing eyes and a large toothy mouth. Its tongue is tipped with red, while its tall spiky shell is dull pink with three purple "eyes" and a swirly marking. It also has several crab-like legs but these are rarely seen. Residing underground inside pits of sand built to suck prey in, the Sand-nit emerges when its trap is set off by something like a Pikmin or other small creature, opening its mouth and slowly crawling forward to catch the prey as it struggles to escape from the beast. If the prey somehow manages to escape the sand pit, the Sand-nit shoots its long stretchy tongue into the sand and, through vibrations manages to seek out the prey and harpoon it before it can see
