Sergeant Emil Blonsky underwent the same test as Bruce Banner during the Iraq War. When Banner seemingly died, the government deemed it a failure, and began testing on another subject, but with Blonsky they increased the amount of gamma used, in comparison to the original project. Emil was found in a high security prison during his time with the RAF for a rape crime, and sentenced to life time in prison. He was offered a pardon, should he partake in the project, the results were the same.

  • Sergeant Emil Blonsky underwent the same test as Bruce Banner during the Iraq War. However, this time, Blonsky arrived mutated one year later than Bruce. During experimentation (prior to arriving a year after Bruce did), the government implanted micro explosives under Blonsky's skin while it was still malleable, in order to control Emil in case he went rogue. He was first shown as an ally of the Hulk, but after a brief scrap, Hulk left, and the newly dubbed Abomination became his successor. Constantly fighting Hulk, he eventually became a hired gun for General Ross' maniac purposes. Abomination would prove to be unbalanced, and killed Ross' brother and stuck his remains into a refrigerator. Infuriated, the General nearly killed his early ally, but was stopped by the military of the United States. Ross seemingly kills Blonsky, however, he is evolved into Gamma Radiation, so in essence, Abomination is immortal, just as Hulk. Without ways to kill him, Ross imprisoned Blonsky in the Cube, a new superprison designed only to contain gamma irradiated individuals and in secrecy use their abilities to produce super-soldiers and weapons.
