Police detective Bill White of the homicide division investigates some particularly brutal murders. Finding strange, three-toed footprints near the crime scenes, he and the other detectives are initially perplexed. Detective White does some research at the library, discovering an image of a creature known as a Kemaha, (he thinks the word is "Arabic"), fits the killer's description, having a footprint with three toes. The Kemaha looks like a human until its required daily feeding, making it difficult to track.

  • Police detective Bill White of the homicide division investigates some particularly brutal murders. Under that hunch, he uses a policewoman named Ethel Vance to trap the Kemaha. Ethel is murdered by the Kemaha. Bill White tracks it back to his place, as the Kemaha planned. The Kemaha takes over Bill White's identity, and Bill becomes the Kemaha.
