| - Following the Third World War (2034–2052), the major superpowers of the world either collapsed or were greatly weakened from the nearly twenty year long conflict that killed 100 million people. The collapse of the global economy, and the high rates of anarchy tore apart the major superpowers that "survived" the conflict. Also, this allowed the Unified Hurian Federation, which largely remained out of the conflict, to begin making massive political, territorial, and technological gains with literally no competition at all. Huria is the world power on Dunia, having attained the title of hyperpower following the war. Under the governance of Huria, Swahili has become the new lingua franca, replacing English, Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese as major languages of business, politics, and world trade. Hurian culture permitted the hyperpower to occupy large swaths of land in Russia and Africa following two successful invasions, and hold them with little military retaliation. And Huria had free reign to rename Earth and the other planets in the solar system as well. Almost all major nation states used Swahili as a major diplomatic language, showing how quickly Huria's power has grown. As for the other powers, the United States, China, and the European Union all engaged in civil war, only Brazil and Japan stand against the hegemonic rule of the Hurians, who are genetically superior and cybernetically enhanced superhumans. Following the colonization of Mirihi and Zuhura, as well as Mwandamo (the moon), the economy of the planet is now interplanetary, with most of the resources now being imported from Mirihi, and large food transporters hailing from Zuhura to feed the 16.7 billion people living on Duria.
