School Belles was a strip originating in Nutty, a title published by DC Thomson in the early 1980's, concerning the misadventures of Daisy, Rose, Violet and Marigold, four continually misbehaving students at a girls' school called St. Onions (in keeping with the girls' flower themed names, their teacher was called Miss Buttercup). The strip was clearly inspired by the classic St. Trinians storiesby Ronald Searle. It was thematically similar to the earlier Beano strip The Belles of St. Lemons, an offshoot of the Bash Street Kids. The strip was created by Evil de Bono.
