- Loom was a forested region of the planet Ferenginar. According to "The Story of Ving and Ding", it was in the forests of Loom where the timber weevil hunter Fing finally found the brothers Ving and Ding after they had left the civilized world. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
- Loom was a banderbear and the twin of Meeru. During the First Age of Flight, he and his brother tended timber barges. Many years later, during the events of The Last of the Sky Pirates, he and Meeru accompanied Twig and Rook aboard the Skyraider on their mission to rescue Cowlquape from the Tower of Night. After Meeru was killed by a harpoon shot by the Guardians of Night, the grieving Loom jumped off the ship after his twin brother, falling to his death.
- Players can use the loom to make the following:

* Unfinished net, requires 5 bunches of flax
* Strip of cloth, requires 2 balls of wool

- Only three looms exist in RuneScape:
