In Indian folklore, a bhoot is a ghost. Bhoot is the Hindu word for "ghost". It is derived from the Sanskrit (ancient Indian language) word for ghost, Bhuta. In Hindu folklore, a Bhuta is a vampiric spirit of a person killed violently (including by accident, suicide, execution) who did not receive proper funeral rites, so roams dark and empty places. They feed on the intestines of the living. Their attack on people inflicts sickness or even kills. This likely explains the bhoot ability "Perdition."

- The Hindu word for ghost.
- Bhoot is a hindi word meaning simply "ghost". However, in India is also used to refer to a certain dust-carrying whirlwind blowing down a mountain flank, like the Foehn of the Alps and the Chinook of the Rocky Mountains. In Random Kingdom VXR, the dragon Vritra has a breath attack going by this name (as well as another attack named after an indian meteorological phenomenon, Kali Andhi), which consists of breathing enslaved ghosts - Bhoots - upon the battlefield. Like Earth VII's Shenlong, Vritra is capable of containing the spirits of those he killed, to be released at an opportune time in this manner.
