| - One of the four elemental damage types in SWG. Weapons that use acid damage dissolves armor on the intended target. The procedure effect will increase the chance on the target to recieve a critical hit by 75% for 3 seconds. Lightsaber Proc: Weakens the target, increasing critical strike chance.
- Acid damage is generally caused by the corrosive nature of some creature attacks and spells (e.g. Mestil's acid breath and Melf's acid arrow). The damage can be reduced via the feats resist energy and epic energy resistance. Items with acid resistance or acid immunity will either reduce or remove acid damage altogether.
- This is a special and very powerful type of damage. Very few NPCs use it, those few include Cockroach Queen, Toxin Ants, and Magma strykewyrm. Acid works like this. Once you get hit, it starts to rust armor, rot wood, and burn flesh. It effects different metals differently.
* Iron: Quickest to be destroyed, 5 minutes.
* Steel, Black, and White: Second quickest, 6 minutes.
* Mithril and Adamant: 10 minutes.
* Runite: 12 minutes.
* Dragon: 20 minutes.
* Bronze: 30 minutes. It does NOT affect metal in your inventory. (The acid hitsplat)

You can also use it on any weapons poison can go on, to calculate how much time your weapon has it it gets destroyed, times the normal time by 5. To use acid you must use an empty vial on the corpse of a recently killed Toxin Ant or Cockroach Queen. Use oil on the metal before it has rusted to save it. Acid also damages the wearer of the armor. To calculate how you will be hit, subtract 300 by your defence. Defence increasing potions, spells, food et cetera can help lower the damage you take.
