The Venii Conclave, often shortened to just "the Conclave," is the overarching government of the Venii people. Established over 300 years ago by a treaty ending the race's cataclysmic civil war, the Conclave was formed to unite factions that had grown apart during the time of their ancient empire. In order to ensure a long-lasting peace, the Venii adopted a policy of extreme isolationism, burying the stargates on all of their worlds and severing the links between many of their FTL relay stations. Despite the centuries of enforced aloneness and the unchallenged power of the government itself, however, the vast majority of Venii approve of their rulers and are content with things as they are. Minority groups exist that would prefer their people again attempt to conquer swaths of the galaxy,
