In 1938-39 Fisher turned pro with the Pittsburgh Hornets. In the next four seasons, he split the years between the Indianapolis Capitals and the NHL's Detroit Red Wings. Fisher served in the Canadian military in 1943-44 and then played senior hockey for the Winnipeg RCAF Bombers team in 1944-45. In 1945-46 he won the Allan Cup with the Calgary Stampeders of the Western Canada Senior Hockey League (WCSHL). He continued in the WCSHL until 1948-49, also playing for the Lethbridge Maple Leafs and the Regina Capitals. He retired in 1949. In 1950-51 Fisher was the coach of the junior Medicine Hat Tigers.
