  • Ukigakure (浮きれの里, Ukigakure no Sato; lit. Village Hidden in The Float) is the hidden village of the Land of The Bay. It is classified as the first Moving Village (可動里, Kadō Sato) and because of this, it has piqued the interest of the Great Shinobi Countries. The large village slowly wades through the water with the help of the Village Head's abilities in Water Release, a common tradition among the village people. Ukigakure first earned it's notoriety in the Conflict of Waters (水域の葛藤, Suīki no Kattō), a long-lasting conflict between the village and Kirigakure. While Ukigakure intended to conquer the Land of The Sea, Kirigakure retaliated against the assault, creating a war between the two. It was in this time that Ukigakure's shinobi population increased. With the end of the war, Ukigakure retreated by signing a declaration of peace with Kirigakure. With the arrival of the Fifth Mizukage, the agreement was made official. In the adulthood of the new generation, Ukigakure has gained popularity as a tourist site, attracting shinobi once a year when the village can be seen in the oceans close to their land. Because of the common interaction with shinobi of different nations, Ukigakure has developed many of their ninjutsu and other styles of fighting from this, creating a unique plethora of skilled shinobi. The ninja of Ukigakure typically wear comfortable clothing and do not wear headbands, and can instead be identified by a tattoo of their village's symbol on their shoulder.
