He is 5'11" tall and weighs 198 lbs., and was born on November 10, 1983 in Centralia, Illinois. He plays his position right handed, but bats lefty. Along with teammates Robert Delaney, Jeff Manship, Wilson Ramos, Anthony Slama & Danny Valencia, Dinkelman represented the Fort Myers Miracle in the 2008 Florida State League All-Star game after batting .293 with two home runs and 19 runs batted in in the first half of the 2008 season.

The Miracle captured the Florida State League first-half West Division title, however, he will not be appearing in the post season with the Miracle as he was recently promoted to the Twins' Double A affiliate, the New Britain Rock Cats. He is the NAIA all-time leader in career hits (373), doubles (96), runs scored (303) and total bases (670) and holds or shares 25 career McKendree records.
