Mogo is an entire Planet who is a Green Lantern. Mogo is revealed to be a living planet who patrols his own sector of space and is an official member of the Green Lantern Corps. Despero arrives and uses his hypnotic powers to take control of Mogo. He then plans to use Mogo's power to help him take control of the universe. The three remaining Lanterns left, Guy Gardner, Sinestro and G'nort as well as their temporary leader Batman then devise a plan to take Despero down and free Mogo. While Sinestro places a protective shield around Earth, Guy distracts Mogo while G'nort is asked to drain the power from Mogo's power battery and Batman handles Despero. While Guy puts up quite a fight, he is ultimately no match for the living planet and is knocked out. When he awakes he finds Sinestro ready to

When he awakes he finds Sinestro ready to blow Mogo up saying he has no intention of letting Earth fall into Despero's hands. Guy objects, saying that Mogo's a Green Lantern and they can't just kill him. As Guy and Sinestro fight, G'nort remembers the Lantern oath by using his cheat sheet, draining Mogo's power battery and freeing him from Despero's influence. Mogo then knocks Despero far into the reaches of Space.
