- "Fur" is a Sesame Street song performed by The Aristocrats. Lead singer Stuie Monster sings about his love of being covered in fur and its many uses. Stuie also performed the song in the Sesame Street Live show Big Bird's Super Spectacular Totally Amateur Show. In 1998, a remake of the song was performed by Zoe, Herry, Grover and Elmo. - Fur is an item which can be obtained by either killing bears, or killing Barbarians. It is bought and sold by the fur trader in East Ardougne, and can be stolen from his stall. It can also be sold to Baraek in Varrock. In south-east Varrock, the Fancy Clothes Store also trades in furs. Despite having the appearance of an item which might be used in Crafting, fur has no apparent use besides being sold or alchemized.

- In the story, a young woman named Suzanne wants to encourage a wealthy relative to buy her an expensive present for her birthday. Her friend Eleanor comes up with a clever plan to help her steer him towards a silver-fox stole. When Suzanne refuses Eleanor's request for a favor in return, however, the plan takes an unexpected turn. A fifteen-minute radio play based on "Fur" was produced as an episode of the five-part mini-series of Saki dramatizations Claw Marks on the Curtain. The play first aired on BBC Radio 4 on May 4, 2005.

- Beautiful Silver colored fur that can be sold to merchant NPCs at a high price.
- Furs can be found on dead Giant Rats, Hell Hounds, Dogs, and Wolves. One can turn in 100 Furs to Destin at the Armor Shop in Duldrus for a Katana of Durability and 50 Experience Points. This quest was unavailable for many moons, as Destin was killed by an Ice Dragon in the Battle at Duldrus in 433. The quest returned when the shopkeepers returned to Duldrus in the Sleeping Moon of Year 437. One can also sell Furs to the Tailor Shop or General Store for 4 gp, and they may be bought in the same stores for 8 gp.

- Furs are a product of tanning fresh animal skin. They can be used as crafting materials, blankets, and in trading. Foreign traders come to Finland to buy furs (and nothing else). They look for only the most valuable ones, like fox fur.
- One example of a creature with fur was the Tarcassian razor beast, which was a winged, furry animal noted for the spines on its wings and its loping way of locomotion. When she was a child, Guinan had an imaginary one as a pet. In her mind it had dark brown fur, gold eyes, and enormous wings that let it fly so fast no one but her could see it.
