abstract
  • Etymology The operation is known internally by the Empire of Terra as Operation Ghostbuster, due to the fact that the tango Finlands was identified as an NPO Ghost; and the strike was carried out in September. Prelude to war Finlands was identified by VE as an NPO ghost; hence, was on an internal strike list in the VE's Phoenix Battalion, First Division. Target was not engaged by other Phoenicians as it was outside NS range of most Phoenicians. Empire of Terra was amongst the few that was in range; and the Empire volunteered to engage the target in favour of the VE mandate. This war was internally recognized as Operation September Ghostbuster by the Empire of Terra. * 2nd Sept, 2009. permission sought from Commander Melchior of VE Phoenix Battatlion to engage CN ID=302535, target selected from Confidential! (VE internal target list, VE eyes only!). * 3rd Sept, 2009. Commander Melchior instructs to find an attacking partner. Request sent to CN ID=351874(VID=2941), but no reply. * 5th Sept, 2009. Official war authorization request submitted to Commander Melchior to engage target alone. * 6th Sept, 2009. War authorized. War declared! Terms sent to target (remove New Pacific Order as Alliance Affiliation). * 8th Sept, 2009. Target sent into anarchy. Reponse of Finlands Finlands didn't retaliate at all, didn't rebuild and didn't even change DEFCON level (remained at DEFCON 5). Aftermath The Empire gained over 100 miles of land and 17.54 tech through this strike, despite suffering more casualties than Finlands. Finlands didn't submit to terms, but was devastated by the attack and had its NS reduced to less than half. Another nation (non VE) has stacked the attack and continued to strike Finlands.
