- A Queen's Egg sac is enormous, easily dwarfing the size of her body. Typically stretching for many tens of feet, the structure is analogous to the large egg-producing abdomen of queen termites. Eggs are produced inside the Egg sac constantly in a fashion similar to a mass production line, first forming at the base of the sac, where it connects to the Queen herself, and developing as they move towards the rear. Finally, the developed Eggs are laid by an ovipositor at the Egg sac's tip.
- I thought it would be a good idea. I thought I could lock myself in, that I could keep them out. I even thought I could wait them out; I'd have a fresh water supply, I'd be able to hold out for weeks. It's not like they could break down the door; they're so small... I rolled up a towel, got it nice and wet in the sink, stuffed it at the bottom of the door. I turned on the fan, just in case they tried to come around through the vents. It also helped to drown out my family's screams... I opened the curtain to knock back, and I saw it. Black, sticky, bulbous. An egg sac. And it was cracking open...

| - Take a lot of hits to kill. One of several enemies to take advantage of my paint program's 'blur' function in their death sequence. These are nice to use to block off areas. They're big enough to cover a 1-tile wide gap, and it's a bit of work to kill one. Also of note is that enemies can walk right through Egg Sacs . Something to think about in your level designs.

I realized the water still flowed; whatever these bugs were, they didn't get too bad, yet, if things like that still worked. I realized that I could hear a knocking sound from somewhere. I tried to find it; it seemed to be coming from the shower wall. Maybe someone was in the other room, trying to see if anyone was around. Maybe my sister - when I ran, they didn't have her, yet. I opened the curtain to knock back, and I saw it. Black, sticky, bulbous. An egg sac. And it was cracking open... Posted on /x/ by Glen Balzac !TsV4DJLJGA
- Egg Sacs produce eensy-weensies. They are a small, white web that bulges faster and faster. When it reaches its fastest point, an eensy-weensy appears.
- An adult Xindi-Insectoid could produce multiple egg sacs asexually. (ENT: "Hatchery") The Crepusculans also produced egg sacks. One cluster off egg sacks was placed outdoors in a desert canyon, supported on stick-like legs and connected by lines. (DIS: "The Vulcan Hello") These egg sacks appeared to be notably larger then a Crepusculan seen moving on top of them.
Queens are able to remain mobile during the early stages of Egg sac development, but owing to the immense size and weight of a producing sac, they soon become unable to move. As it grows, the sac is typically suspended from the roof of the Hive by resin "straps". The Queen herself is dependant on her brood for defense and care. Other Xenomorphs also tend to the Eggs once they are laid, moving them from beneath the ovipositor to "nursery" areas within the Hive. In an emergency, the Queen can separate from her Egg sac to allow her to move, although this process is apparently quite painful for her. While she cannot subsequently reattach the discarded sac, she can apparently grow a new one fairly quickly. Notably, despite the Egg sac constituting a huge proportion of the Queen's overall mass, destroying it is not fatal to the Queen herself.
- An egg sac is used to spawn Tear-Mites, Therm-Mites, Med-Mites, and Blind-Mites in The Conduit and Conduit 2. It was created by The Trust to help build their Drudge army. Destroying an egg sac will ultimately stop production of the Mites.
