| - Hyper Zergling and I were texting one another around October of 2011 when I came up with this idea. Lightning had taken out the power in my house, so I had almost nothing to do except text him. I came up with various ridiculous statements to entertain myself at his expense. In one of my texts, I talked about how Ledas and Cuber would fuse into Cubas (I believe I also threw out the name Leder at one point, in jest) and then beat up on some baddies. Of course, Hyper Zergling was stunned. He didn't know whether or not I was joking. The statement could go either way - and let's face it, if he said I was joking and I wasn't, then it would damage our friendship greatly. So he had to play it cool.

Bear in mind that at the point of those texts, Hyper Zergling and I hadn't been collaborators before. Our universes weren't canon to one another. So this story had massive ramifications for our future stories. If we were to bridge our universes, then we'd have to keep in mind each others' timelines when creating future stories. So it was a big gamble, but being how bored I was by the power being out, I just went ahead and did it. I was fairly confident that regardless of the story idea, Hyper Zergling and I could make a good story. Yuki was originally not supposed to be Chaiva's daughter, but through the absurdity that was already Cubas, I had to continue it through the texting. Hyper Zergling bought that idea as legitimate (it really wasn't) and then named her Yuki. I remember that I was always disappointed by her name because it wasn't a pun. Sure Cooler and Cold aren't puns, but Frieza was and Frieza has one of the cooler (!!!) names in the Dragon Ball series. So that was a bit of a missed opportunity. I don't remember a whole lot about the writing process (and neither does Hyper Zergling, even after extended questioning before doing this commentary). Basically, Hyper Zergling would write the original draft of many stories, which usually ended up as about half of the chapter. I would then come in and clean up dialogue and finish writing the second half of the chapter. This wasn't true for all chapters. Sometimes we switched the roles. Hyper Zergling was a good writer of fight scenes and I was good at writing dialogue and exposition, so most of the dialogue was written by me, and much of the fighting was written by him. Of course, there was plenty of writing that I wrote as well, and lots of dialogue that he wrote, but we definitely had our specialties for this single story. I remember plenty of nights where I was at school around 9pm in the library working on second drafts of various chapters that HZ had sent me over instant message. Those were good times for me - though HZ has remarked that he was chiefly embarrassed by some of the dialogue he wrote that I had to change to make better. Regardless, the two of us probably spent 3-4 hours per chapter. I can't say exactly how much time HZ spent on his side, but that seems about right. Even though this was a collaboration, we didn't slack or not try because of the possible ridiculousness of Yuki and Cubas. Cold Vengeance's name was, I believe, created by me. I honestly don't remember, though. The name has a rather simple meaning. Cold family = Yuki (daughter of Nitro, son of King Cold), and vengeance = Yuki getting vengeance for her father's death. So that was all pretty simple. Hyper Zergling and I basically did a 50/50 split on coming up with the chapter names. As can be seen, almost all of the ones that Hyper Zergling came up with referenced Halo in some way. Additionally, since the two of us did extended planning and deliberating on the story (this was also done so we could align our universes and remove any contradictions between the two), there was very little changed from the time the page was made until the story was completed (although we later removed the original theme song). Indeed, only two chapters were added from the first edit on the page and no chapters were re-named. Honestly, only one chapter was really added in later, because Bedtime was written before Cold Vengeance was, and it was always intended to be a part of the story. Bedtime was the ultimate goal of Cold Vengeance. I won't deny that. I wanted Ledas to lose his virginity to a full-blooded Saiyan, and Chaiva was the only one I could think of using (I didn't want to make up a new female Saiyan just for that). There were no other (good) writers with fanon female Saiyans, so that was a big draw to Hyper Zergling. That is no slight to HZ's writing abilities, however. He was still a good writer, and aside from him possessing Chaiva, he was probably the best collaborator I could have had on the site. That said, the main thing to be gained from this story is Bedtime. Hyper Zergling has fapped to it countless times, as have many of the readers. So that's pretty darn cool. I am a proud writer yeah!
