| - Abe joined Capcom in 1990, where he worked mainly on both CPS1 and CPS2 titles (using the alias Oyaji in his earlier works). The first (and most famous) of these is Street Fighter II, where he composed the main theme for the character Sagat (including its unique time signature) as well as the original "VS." and "Here Comes a New Challenger" jingles that would serve as templates for the company's future fighting games. This is emphasized most often by Abe himself, who always appears to handle those themes (or a different theme with an equivalent role) whenever he is involved with a game's soundtrack. Other CPS1 titles Abe worked on include Knights of the Round, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and The Punisher, the latter two of which he did with Syun Nishigaki. Along with Syun, Abe served as a pioneer for the CPS2 sound board with Super Street Fighter II (where he composed T. Hawk and Dee Jay's themes) and then later with Ring of Destruction: Slam Masters II. He then acted as main composer for both Street Fighter Alpha and Pocket Fighter. Other CPS2 titles Abe contributed to include X-Men: Children of the Atom, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Star Gladiator and Street Fighter Alpha 3. He was also a member of Alph Lyla, Capcom's former in-house band, and continued to serve the company as a guitarist until late 2004 despite his last known compositions being made in 2002 (for Auto Modellista).
