A junior officer during the war, Kostka rose to command an infantry company in the 7th Mechanized Brigade during the collapse and marched on Prague to rescue the government from anarchist rebels. Since then, his unit has been called "The Red Hands", and is one of the most feared infantry companies in Europe.
