| - Adepts are assigned their rank because they have proven that they are helpful, kind, and intelligent. With their rank, they can have a user title, a pretty star, access to the Adept Discussion board, larger signatures, ability to delete their own posts, ability to lock their own threads, and ability to delete their threads with no posts.
- Adepts were a human enemy class in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. They were vampire worshippers who deified Kain and served his empire of vampires during the Soul Reaver era. During Raziel's quest to destroy Kain, they were found in the Silenced Cathedral.

- An Adept (エナジスト Energist) is a person in the Golden Sun series who can use Psynergy. There are four types of Adepts, one for each of the elements: Venus (earth), Mars (fire), Jupiter (wind), and Mercury (water). Generally an Adept can only cast Psynergy of his or her element. However, the elemental spirits known as Djinn (singular: Djinni) can affect an Adept's Psynergy, either granting them Psynergies of other elements (if the Djinni's element is different than the Adept's) or making their existing Psynergy stronger.
- Those non-specialised workers and labourers, who may be shifted from job-to-job as required, are known instead as Menials. These often destitute men and women serve as transport drivers, labourers, sanitisers and in other non-skilled but labour-intensive occupations. Menials are recruited from the population of non-Adepts, but take the title Adept themselves. They are very proud of this honour, and will bear almost any indignity to make sure they keep it.

Adepta is the feminised version of the title Adept in High Gothic form. This formal title is exclusively used by the all-female monastic orders of the Adepta Sororitas, which includes both the Sororitas' Orders Majoris and Orders Minoris. The title "Tech-Adept" is the similar and analogous title utilised by the Tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus when dealing formally with the rest of the Imperial bureaucracy.

Another possible source is the Elemental Lighthouses, giving birth to the Mercury Clan and explaining why everyone in Prox is a Mars Adept (Prox is just south of Mars Lighthouse) despite the cold climate. The most notable exception is Lemuria: all Lemurians are Mercury Adepts, yet there is no obvious source for this Psynergy.

* The Clef Adept never had a color. He was the one chosen to play the "platinum flute" to juxtapose the frames of Phaze and Proton. His only ability lies with the flute.
* The Robot Adept is the title which officially belongs to Mach, the son of Citizen Blue and Sheen. He used the Book of Magic to become an instant Adept. However, in Juxtaposition, Sheen is also referred to as the Robot Adept. She also had to use the Book of Magic and as a result became Adept.
* The Unicorn Adept is Flach, the son of Mach and Fleta.
* The Hectare Adept is an alien named Weva. She is part wolf, bat, and human. Her Proton aspect, Beman, is part Hectare(BEM), robot, and human. He/She was born under the West Pole of Phaze, and trained by the Animal-heads that lived there. There is an assumption, although it is never stated, that she was trained from the Book of Magic and therefore isn't limited in her mode of magic. Due to the use of the Book of Magic, which contains all forms of Adept magic, Robot and Unicorn and Red Adept 2 are not limited in the method in which they invoke their magic.
